Tree Pose
Place the non-grounded foot at your ankle, calf, thigh, or inner thigh. Avoid putting pressure on the knee.
Modifications
With one foot firmly grounded on the earth, place the sole of the other foot against inside of the grounded ankle with the big toe touching the floor.
Lying on the floor - align the pose lying on the floor, pressing the foot of the extended leg firmly into a wall.
With a strap - place a strap around the ankle of the raised foot and hold it with both hands in front of the abdomen.
