Tree Pose

Place the non-grounded foot at your ankle, calf, thigh, or inner thigh. Avoid putting pressure on the knee.

Modifications

  • With one foot firmly grounded on the earth, place the sole of the other foot against inside of the grounded ankle with the big toe touching the floor.

  • Lying on the floor - align the pose lying on the floor, pressing the foot of the extended leg firmly into a wall.

  • With a strap - place a strap around the ankle of the raised foot and hold it with both hands in front of the abdomen.

Helpful Hint

  • If you have ankle or knee issues, practice this pose lying on the floor or against the wall.
